Carrie is a nonprofit management professional and writer based in Phoenix, Arizona. Raised in Michigan, she led a United Way in Upstate New York before landing in Arizona and becoming enchanted with the endless beauty of the desert landscape. An award-winning author, she is always adding to the existing written knowledge on topics such as legacy giving, philanthropy, and nonprofit governance. A tireless advocate for promotion of self-care for those on the front lines in our non-profits, she enjoys presenting on the brain basics of compassion fatigue.
Carrie is the executive director of the Brain Injury Alliance of Arizona and a board member for the nonprofits because I said I would and the United States Brain Injury Alliance. Some of her favorite things that bring her great joy are her three rescue Chihuahuas, cacti, champagne, and oxford commas- in that order.
